Dental fillings

When tooth decay is detected at an early stage — before it affects the dental pulp and before significant tooth structure is lost — it can often be treated easily with a dental filling. Early treatment helps avoid more complicated procedures such as root canal treatment or dental crowns, saving both time and cost.

1. What Is Dental Filling?

Dental filling is a procedure that uses dental restorative materials to repair a damaged or decayed tooth, restoring its original shape and normal function.

When performing a dental filling, the dentist first removes the decayed or discolored tooth structure caused by cavities, cleans the affected area, and fills the space with a specialized filling material. The filling is then adjusted and polished to ensure optimal function, aesthetics, and comfort.

2. Dental Fillings at hiDental

hiDental uses premium dental filling materials to restore the natural appearance and optimal function of teeth. Currently, hiDental no longer uses amalgam fillings (commonly known as silver or metal fillings) because they may pose environmental concerns and do not provide ideal aesthetics.
Although dental fillings may seem like a simple treatment, at hiDental, achieving excellent results and ensuring patient comfort are always our priorities. To accomplish this, every small detail is carefully considered: selecting the filling shade that best matches the natural tooth color, adjusting the bite naturally after the procedure, and providing protective glasses to shield patients’ eyes from dental curing lights during treatment.

For cases requiring matrix band techniques, hiDental always uses high-quality systems to accurately recreate the tooth’s natural shape and contours. In some situations involving multiple fillings or fillings on back teeth, the dentist may place a rubber dam to isolate the teeth from the oral environment. Although this may feel slightly uncomfortable, the rubber dam helps prevent instruments from falling into the mouth and creates a dry environment that allows the filling material to bond effectively to the tooth.

In particular, highly aesthetic fillings for front teeth that require advanced techniques can be skillfully performed by our meticulous and professional dental team. This is also a cost-effective option for achieving a beautiful smile if porcelain veneers are beyond your current budget.
